USAR

Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) involves the mobilization of resources to locate and remove trapped and often injured victims from collapsed structures or environments.

A variety of emergencies or disasters in Australia may give rise to structural collapses requiring a USAR response. These include storms, cyclones, earthquakes, floods and possible terrorist attacks.

Rockingham Tracker Dogs commenced USAR training in 2004. Max was the first of our dogs to have a dual role. Zena has since joined the USAR K9 team.

The Fire Service (FESA) of Western Australia, will call us out for Urban Search and Rescue work. We are just one of the resources that are available for mobilization

A “thank you” to Peter, who is a full time fire fighter who acts as our liaison officer and is very enthusiastic about having a K9 team in the USAR organization.

The SES work with the K9 USAR team. Again with out the SES it would be hard to find helpers and victims.
